Possible Causes
Worn or broken drive belt, Faulty drum motor, Defective motor tachometer sensor, Motor wiring harness issue
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing any panels. Avoid rotating the drum by hand while power is connected.
- Step 1 – Check for overloading: Remove some laundry and try a smaller load. Overloading can prevent spin and trigger motor errors on Essentials combos.
- Step 2 – Inspect drive belt: Remove the rear panel. Check if the belt is off the pulley, frayed, or broken. Refit or replace the belt as needed, ensuring it sits correctly on both the motor and drum pulleys.
- Step 3 – Test drum rotation: Rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly without grinding. If it is seized or very stiff, suspect bearing or mechanical issues rather than the motor.
- Step 4 – Inspect motor and wiring: Check the motor connector and wiring harness for loose plugs, burnt pins, or damaged cables. Reseat connectors firmly.
- Step 5 – Electrical tests: If equipped and trained, use a multimeter to test motor windings and tachometer sensor resistance. Open windings or a failed tachometer will require motor replacement.
- Step 6 – If E07 persists: The motor control circuit on the main PCB (inverter or triac) may be faulty. This is a complex repair best handled by a technician.
