Possible Causes
Blocked condenser unit, Lint buildup in air ducts, Faulty dryer fan motor, Clogged lint filter (if fitted)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the washer-dryer and allow it to cool before cleaning internal ducts.
- Step 1 – Clean accessible filters: Remove any front-access lint filters and wash them under running water. Dry thoroughly before refitting.
- Step 2 – Clean condenser: If your Essentials model has a removable condenser, take it out and flush with warm water to remove lint and detergent residue. Allow to drain and dry.
- Step 3 – Inspect air paths: Remove the rear panel and inspect the dryer air ducts for lint buildup. Carefully vacuum or brush out debris without damaging sensors or seals.
- Step 4 – Check dryer fan: Locate the dryer fan motor and impeller. Ensure the impeller is not broken and spins freely. If the fan motor does not run during drying, it may need replacement.
- Step 5 – Test drying: Reassemble and run a timed dry cycle with a small load. If E12 persists and airflow is clear, the dryer temperature sensor or control PCB may be misreading conditions and require further diagnosis.
