Possible Causes
Leaking door seal, Loose hose clamp on tub or pump, Cracked drain hose, Activated base tray float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply taps immediately to prevent further leakage. Beware of slippery floors.
- Step 1 – Inspect visible leaks: Check around the door seal, detergent drawer, and rear hoses for obvious drips or streams of water.
- Step 2 – Check base tray: Many Essentials combos have a leak sensor in the base. Remove the lower front or rear panel and look for water in the base tray. Mop up all water and dry thoroughly.
- Step 3 – Examine hoses and clamps: Inspect the tub-to-pump hose, pump-to-drain hose, and inlet hoses for cracks or loose clamps. Tighten clamps and replace any damaged hoses.
- Step 4 – Inspect door seal: Look for tears, holes, or mold damage on the door gasket. If damaged, replace the door seal with an Essentials-compatible part, ensuring correct alignment and fit of the retaining bands.
- Step 5 – Test for further leaks: Run a short wash cycle while observing the machine (panels off if safe) to identify any slow leaks. Address the source before regular use.
