Possible Causes
Loose wiring between user interface board and main PCB, Faulty control panel PCB, Moisture ingress into control fascia, Damaged ribbon cable
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel or top cover.
- Step 1 – Power reset: Disconnect power for 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge. Reconnect and check if E14 clears.
- Step 2 – Inspect control connections: Remove the top cover and, if necessary, the front control fascia. Check the ribbon cable and connectors between the user interface board and the main control PCB. Reseat all plugs firmly.
- Step 3 – Check for moisture: Look for signs of condensation or detergent residue on the control panel. If present, dry carefully with a lint-free cloth and allow the unit to air dry fully before reassembly.
- Step 4 – Visual inspection: Examine the control boards for burnt components or corrosion. If the user interface PCB is visibly damaged or buttons do not respond, replace the control panel assembly.
- Step 5 – If E14 persists: The main control PCB may be faulty and require replacement. This should be done by a qualified technician to ensure correct programming for your Essentials model.
