E20
Essentials
Excessive Suds / Foam Detection
Washer-dryer shows E20 and stops during spin; drum may be full of suds

Possible Causes
Overdosing detergent, Using non-HE detergent, Very soft water with normal dosing, Blocked pressure sensor hose misreading foam as water
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the door until the drum has stopped completely.
- Step 1 – Allow suds to settle: Leave the machine powered off for 30 minutes to let foam collapse. Then run a rinse and spin cycle without adding detergent.
- Step 2 – Reduce detergent: For future loads, use high-efficiency (HE) detergent and reduce the quantity, especially in soft water areas. Follow Essentials manual dosing guidelines.
- Step 3 – Clean drum and drawer: Run a maintenance wash at 90°C with no laundry and a washing machine cleaner to remove detergent buildup.
- Step 4 – Check pressure hose: If E20 recurs even with low suds, inspect the water level pressure sensor hose for partial blockage that could cause false foam detection.
