Possible Causes

Defective door interlock switch, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Wiring harness issue between door lock and main control board, Faulty main control board (PCB)

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance from the mains and turn off the water supply before any work. Do not bypass the door lock for testing with the machine powered.

  • Step 1 – Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no clothing is trapped between the door seal and the door. The door should click positively when closed.
  • Step 2 – Inspect door latch hook: With power disconnected, inspect the metal or plastic latch hook on the door. If it is loose, bent, or broken, it must be replaced. A damaged hook will prevent the Fagor door interlock from engaging.
  • Step 3 – Test the door interlock: Remove the front retaining band of the door gasket and gently pull the gasket back to access the door lock assembly. Remove the two screws holding the lock. Disconnect the wiring connector. Using a multimeter, test the interlock terminals for continuity when the lock is manually actuated (refer to a Fagor service diagram for pinout). If open circuit, replace the door lock assembly.
  • Step 4 – Check wiring harness: Inspect the wiring from the door lock to the main control board for burnt, loose, or broken wires. Repair or replace damaged wiring and ensure connectors are fully seated on the PCB.
  • Step 5 – Reset the control: After reassembly, reconnect power and try a short wash program. If E01 persists with a known-good lock and wiring, the main control board may be faulty and should be tested or replaced by a qualified technician.
