Possible Causes
Blocked drain pump filter, Obstructed drain pump impeller, Clogged drain hose or standpipe, Failed drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Water may spill when opening the filter—have towels and a shallow tray ready.
- Step 1 – Access and clean pump filter: Open the lower front service flap. Place a tray under the filter cap. Slowly unscrew the drain pump filter to let water out gradually. Remove any coins, lint, buttons, or debris. Clean the filter thoroughly and refit it tightly.
- Step 2 – Check pump impeller: With the filter removed, look inside at the impeller. Ensure it spins freely and is not jammed by foreign objects. Remove any obstruction carefully.
- Step 3 – Inspect drain hose: Check the external drain hose for kinks or crushing. Detach it from the standpipe or sink trap and flush it with water to clear blockages. Ensure the standpipe or sink trap is not blocked.
- Step 4 – Test drain pump: Remove the rear or bottom panel to access the Fagor drain pump assembly. Disconnect the wiring connector and measure coil resistance (typically 150–300 Ω; check service data). If open or shorted, replace the pump. Also inspect for signs of overheating or leaks.
- Step 5 – Re-test: Reassemble, reconnect power, and run a drain or spin-only program. If E03 persists with a clear system and good pump, the main control board triac or wiring may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
