Possible Causes

Burnt-out wash heating element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burnt wiring at heater terminals, Faulty main control board relay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before accessing internal components.

  • Step 1 – Access heater: On many Fagor washer-dryer combos, the wash heater is mounted at the rear of the tub. Remove the rear panel to expose the heater terminals and NTC sensor.
  • Step 2 – Test heating element: Disconnect the heater wires. Measure resistance across the heater terminals with a multimeter. Typical values are 20–30 Ω (check service manual). If open circuit or shorted to earth (test between each terminal and the metal tub), replace the heating element.
  • Step 3 – Check NTC sensor: The NTC is usually clipped into the heater bracket. Disconnect its connector and measure resistance at room temperature (commonly 20–30 kΩ). Resistance should decrease smoothly when warmed. If readings are out of spec or erratic, replace the NTC sensor.
  • Step 4 – Inspect wiring and connectors: Look for heat damage, loose spade terminals, or corrosion at the heater and NTC connections. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • Step 5 – Control board: If heater and NTC are good but E05 persists, the heater relay or triac on the Fagor main PCB may be faulty. This requires board-level diagnosis or replacement by a qualified technician.
