Possible Causes
Open dryer heating element, Tripped or faulty thermal cut-out (TCO), Blocked condenser or air duct causing overheating, Faulty dryer temperature sensor (NTC)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Internal dryer components can remain hot after use; allow time to cool.
- Step 1 – Clean air paths: Remove the lower front panel or rear panel (model dependent) to access the condenser and air ducts. Clean lint and fluff from the condenser, fan housing, and ducts. Blocked airflow can trip safety thermostats.
- Step 2 – Check dryer heater and TCO: Locate the Fagor dryer heater assembly (often around the air duct). Disconnect wiring and measure heater resistance (typically 20–40 Ω). If open, replace the heater. Test the thermal cut-out(s) for continuity; if open and non-resettable, replace them.
- Step 3 – Inspect dryer NTC sensor: Find the dryer temperature sensor on the air duct. Disconnect and measure resistance at room temperature (usually 20–30 kΩ). If out of range or not changing with temperature, replace the NTC.
- Step 4 – Wiring and control: Check connectors and wiring from the heater and sensors to the main control board. Repair any burnt or loose connections. If all components test OK but E06 remains, the control board’s dryer heater relay may be defective and should be serviced by a professional.
