Possible Causes

Worn or broken carbon brushes on universal motor, Open or shorted motor windings, Faulty motor tachometer sensor, Defective motor triac or inverter on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the appliance. The drum and motor can move unexpectedly; keep hands clear when testing.

  • Step 1 – Check drum movement: Rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly without grinding or seizing. If stiff, investigate bearings or foreign objects before focusing on the motor.
  • Step 2 – Access motor: Remove the rear panel. Release the drive belt from the motor pulley and drum pulley. Remove the motor mounting bolts and slide the Fagor motor out carefully.
  • Step 3 – Inspect and replace brushes (if fitted): On universal motors, remove the carbon brush holders. If brushes are shorter than about 1 cm or unevenly worn, replace them with compatible Fagor motor brushes. Clean the commutator with fine emery paper if dirty.
  • Step 4 – Test motor windings and tachometer: Measure resistance of the armature and field windings (a few ohms each). Check the tachometer coil at the rear of the motor (typically 100–200 Ω). If open circuit, replace the motor or tachometer assembly.
  • Step 5 – Refit and test: Reinstall the motor and belt. If E07 persists with a good motor, the main control board’s motor drive circuit (triac or inverter) or wiring harness may be faulty and should be diagnosed by a technician.
