Possible Causes
Loose or damaged tachometer sensor on motor, Broken tachometer wiring harness, Faulty main control board speed sensing circuit, Slipping or damaged drive belt
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the rear of the appliance.
- Step 1 – Check drive belt: Remove the rear panel and inspect the belt between the motor and drum pulley. If it is frayed, loose, or off the pulley, refit or replace it with the correct Fagor belt.
- Step 2 – Inspect tachometer: At the rear of the motor, locate the tachometer coil or sensor. Ensure it is firmly attached and not cracked. Check that the magnet on the motor shaft is intact.
- Step 3 – Test tachometer coil: Disconnect the tachometer connector and measure resistance (commonly 100–200 Ω). If open or shorted, replace the tachometer or motor assembly.
- Step 4 – Check wiring to PCB: Trace the tachometer wires from the motor to the main control board. Look for cuts, chafing, or loose connectors. Repair or replace as needed.
- Step 5 – Control board diagnosis: If the tachometer and wiring are good but E08 persists, the speed sensing circuit on the Fagor control board may be defective. Board repair or replacement is recommended via a professional service center.
