Possible Causes
Blocked condenser unit, Lint-clogged air ducts, Faulty dryer fan motor, Blocked or faulty moisture sensor bars
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Internal metal edges can be sharp; wear gloves.
- Step 1 – Clean condenser: If your Fagor combo has a user-accessible condenser, open the lower front flap, remove the condenser unit, and rinse it thoroughly under running water to remove lint. Allow to drain and refit correctly.
- Step 2 – Clean internal ducts: Remove the rear or side panel to access the dryer air ducts. Vacuum and brush out lint from ducts, heater housing, and around the fan.
- Step 3 – Check dryer fan: Spin the fan impeller by hand; it should rotate freely. Test the fan motor for continuity and proper resistance. Replace the fan motor if seized or electrically open.
- Step 4 – Inspect moisture sensor: Locate the metal sensor bars inside the drum (usually near the door opening). Clean them with a non-abrasive cleaner to remove detergent film, which can affect drying control.
- Step 5 – Re-test: Reassemble and run a short drying cycle. If E12 persists, the dryer control circuit or NTC sensor may be faulty and require professional diagnosis.
