Possible Causes
Slipping or misaligned drive belt, Overloaded drum, Failing motor bearings, Foreign object rubbing on drum
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Stop the machine immediately, unplug it, and do not continue using it until inspected.
- Step 1 – Check for overload: Remove some laundry if the drum is tightly packed. Overloading can cause belt and motor strain.
- Step 2 – Inspect belt: Remove the rear panel and check the belt for glazing, burning, or rubber dust. Replace if damaged and ensure correct alignment on pulleys.
- Step 3 – Spin drum by hand: Listen for scraping or grinding. If present, look for foreign objects between drum and tub or bearing issues.
- Step 4 – Motor inspection: Check the Fagor motor for overheating signs or burnt smell. If motor is excessively hot or noisy, have it tested and replaced if necessary.
