Possible Causes

Blocked inlet hose filters, Faulty Fisher & Paykel dual water inlet valve, Low household water pressure, Kinked or incorrectly installed inlet hoses

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn off power at the wall and close both hot and cold water taps before working on hoses or valves.

  • Check water supply: Ensure both hot and cold taps are fully open and that other faucets in the house have normal pressure.
  • Inspect inlet hoses: Pull the washer-dryer forward slightly, check that the hoses are not kinked or crushed behind the unit.
  • Clean inlet filters: Turn off taps, unscrew hoses from the rear of the Fisher & Paykel combo. Inside the valve ports you will see small mesh filters. Gently pull them out with needle-nose pliers and rinse under running water to remove grit and scale. Reinstall filters and reconnect hoses firmly.
  • Test fill: Restore water and power, run a quick wash. If E1 persists, the dual water inlet valve solenoid may be faulty and require replacement.
  • Valve replacement (advanced): Disconnect power and water, remove the top cover (usually rear screws then slide back). Locate the Fisher & Paykel water inlet valve assembly where hoses connect. Label wiring, remove hose clamps and mounting screws, swap in the new valve, reconnect hoses and wiring, and reassemble.
