Possible Causes
Partially blocked Fisher & Paykel drain pump, Clogged sump or tub-to-pump hose, Drain hose height or installation issue, Foreign object lodged in pump impeller
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and keep towels handy for water spillage.
- Check installation: Ensure the drain hose is installed at the correct height and not submerged in standing water, which can slow drainage.
- Clean pump filter: Open the pump access door (if fitted), place a tray, and slowly remove the filter cap. Clear lint, hair, and debris from the filter and pump cavity.
- Inspect sump hose: If access allows, remove the tub-to-pump hose (large black rubber hose) and check for socks, coins, or other obstructions near the ball trap.
- Check impeller: With the filter removed, gently rotate the pump impeller. Remove any trapped objects.
- Test drain: Reassemble, restore power, and run a drain/spin cycle. If E11 persists and the pump is noisy or not running, the Fisher & Paykel drain pump may need replacement.
