Possible Causes
Leak from door seal, Leak from Fisher & Paykel drain pump or hoses, Cracked tub or sump hose, Activated base flood float switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and turn off water supply immediately to prevent further leakage.
- Inspect for visible leaks: Check around the door, underneath the front, and behind the unit for water trails.
- Check door seal: Examine the Fisher & Paykel door gasket for tears, holes, or foreign objects trapped in the folds. Clean and replace if damaged.
- Access base: Remove the front kick panel or tilt the machine carefully (with assistance) to inspect the base tray. If water is present, dry it thoroughly with towels and a sponge.
- Locate source: Run a short fill cycle while observing hoses and pump. Look for drips from the drain pump, tub-to-pump hose, inlet valves, or clamps.
- Repair leaks: Tighten hose clamps, replace cracked hoses, or replace a leaking Fisher & Paykel drain pump. If the outer tub is cracked, professional replacement is recommended.
- Reset flood switch: Once the base is dry and the leak is fixed, the float switch will reset and E13 should clear.
