How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the control panel.
- Dry the panel: If the panel has been exposed to steam or spills, leave the unit unplugged for several hours to dry. Do not use a hair dryer directly on electronics.
- Inspect connections: Remove the control fascia and check the ribbon cable between the user interface and main board. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Check for corrosion: Look for signs of moisture damage or corrosion on the Fisher & Paykel interface PCB. Clean light corrosion with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush.
- Replace interface board: If buttons remain unresponsive, replace the user interface PCB with the correct part number. Transfer the fascia and knob as required.
- Prevent recurrence: Ensure the top cover and control panel seals are intact to prevent steam ingress from the drum.
