Possible Causes
Slow drain due to partial blockage, Faulty Fisher & Paykel drain pump, Pressure sensor not detecting empty tub, Control logic error
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and be prepared for water spillage.
- Verify drain performance: Run a drain-only cycle and time how long it takes to empty. If water remains after several minutes, there is a drain issue.
- Clean pump and hoses: Remove and clean the pump filter, inspect the tub-to-pump hose and drain hose for obstructions.
- Check pressure hose: Ensure the pressure hose from the tub to the sensor is not blocked, kinked, or leaking, as this can prevent the control from seeing an empty tub.
- Test again: After cleaning, run a wash and then a dry cycle. If E20 persists, the Fisher & Paykel drain pump or pressure sensor may need replacement.
