Possible Causes
Loose wiring connection at drain pump, Corroded connector at main control, Intermittent drain pump motor failure, Partially failed main control board output
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
- Inspect connectors: Remove the lower front or rear panel and locate the drain pump. Unplug and re-seat the pump connector several times to clean contacts. Do the same at the main control board end of the harness.
- Check for corrosion: Look for green or white corrosion on terminals. Clean lightly with electrical contact cleaner and a small brush, or replace the harness if badly corroded.
- Flex-test harness: With power disconnected, gently flex the harness along its length to feel for breaks or stiff spots that may indicate internal wire damage.
- Run a test cycle: Reassemble, restore power, and run a rinse & spin. If E24 returns intermittently, the pump motor or control output may be failing under load.
- Replace suspect part: If the pump is noisy, hot, or inconsistent, replace the drain pump. If the pump is stable but the board output is erratic (verified by a technician with a meter), replace the main control board.
