Possible Causes
Failed NTC temperature sensor, Loose sensor wiring, Shorted or open sensor circuit, Faulty main control input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the heater housing.
- Locate NTC sensor: On many Frigidaire combos, the NTC is mounted on or near the heater housing or exhaust duct.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the sensor connector is secure and wires are intact.
- Test sensor resistance: Use a multimeter to measure resistance at room temperature and compare to Frigidaire specifications. An open or shorted reading indicates a bad sensor.
- Replace sensor: Remove mounting screw(s), swap in the new NTC sensor, reconnect wiring, and reassemble.
- Check control board: If a known-good sensor still results in E65, the main control board may be misreading the signal and require replacement.
