How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing the tub area.
- Locate water temperature sensor: Typically mounted in the outer tub wall near the heater or sump area.
- Inspect connector: Ensure the sensor plug is secure and wires are intact.
- Test sensor: Measure resistance at room temperature and compare to Frigidaire specifications. Replace if readings are out of range or open/shorted.
- Replace sensor: Remove the retaining clip or screw, pull out the sensor, install the new one with proper sealing, and reconnect wiring.
- Check control board: If a new sensor does not resolve E71, the main control may be faulty.
