Possible Causes
Defective door lock assembly, Broken or misaligned door latch hook, Faulty door lock wiring harness, Failed main control module (power module)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance or switch off the circuit breaker before any work. Water and electricity are a lethal combination.
- 1. Check door closure: Open and firmly close the door. Ensure no laundry is trapped between the door seal and the glass. The door must click positively.
- 2. Inspect the door latch hook: Examine the metal/plastic latch on the door for bending, cracks, or looseness. If damaged, the door lock cannot engage and the latch hook must be replaced.
- 3. Test the door lock assembly: Remove the front retaining band of the door gasket, pull back the gasket, and access the door lock on the cabinet. Check for burn marks or loose connectors. Reseat the wiring plug fully. If the lock rattles, smells burnt, or shows visible damage, replace the door lock assembly.
- 4. Check wiring harness: Follow the harness from the door lock to the main control (usually at the rear or base). Look for pinched, broken, or corroded wires. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
- 5. Power reset: After checks, reconnect power and try a short cycle. If E01 persists despite a known-good lock and wiring, the main control module may be defective and should be tested or replaced by a qualified technician.
