Possible Causes
Clogged drain pump filter, Blocked drain pump impeller, Obstructed drain hose or standpipe, Failed drain pump motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Have towels and a shallow tray ready; water will spill when opening the filter.
- 1. Access the drain filter: Open the lower service flap on the front. Place a tray and towels under the filter cap.
- 2. Drain residual water: If equipped, use the emergency drain hose to empty water into a container. Then slowly unscrew the filter cap to release remaining water.
- 3. Clean the filter: Remove lint, coins, buttons, and other debris from the filter and pump cavity. Ensure the pump impeller spins freely with a finger; it should turn without binding.
- 4. Check the drain hose: Inspect the rear drain hose for kinks, crushing, or blockage. Detach from the standpipe or sink connection and flush with water to confirm it is clear.
- 5. Test the pump: After cleaning, refit the filter securely. Restore power and run a drain or spin-only program. If the pump hums but does not move water, or is silent, the drain pump motor may be defective and should be replaced.
- 6. Persistent E03: If the pump and hose are clear but the error remains, wiring to the pump or the main control board may be faulty. Further electrical diagnosis is recommended for a professional.
