Possible Causes
Failed wash heater element, Faulty NTC temperature sensor, Loose or burnt heater wiring, Defective power module relay
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before accessing internal components.
- 1. Confirm symptom: Run a hot wash program and check the door glass after 20–30 minutes. If it remains cold and E05 appears, proceed with checks.
- 2. Access heater terminals: Remove the rear panel to locate the wash heater mounted in the outer tub. Identify the heater terminals and NTC sensor.
- 3. Test heater element: With a multimeter set to resistance, measure across the heater terminals. A typical value is 20–30 Ω. Infinite resistance indicates a failed heater that must be replaced.
- 4. Check NTC sensor: Disconnect the NTC plug and measure resistance; it should change with temperature (often 5–20 kΩ at room temperature). A short or open circuit indicates a faulty sensor.
- 5. Inspect wiring and connectors: Look for heat damage, discoloration, or loose spade connectors at the heater and on the power module. Clean and tighten as needed.
- 6. If heater and NTC are good: The fault may lie in the power module heater relay or control electronics. Replacement of the module is complex and should be done by a professional.
