Possible Causes
Failed dryer heater element, Tripped or faulty thermal cut-out (thermal fuse), Blocked condenser or airflow path, Defective dryer temperature sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the unit to cool completely before servicing the dryer section.
- 1. Clean lint and condenser: Remove and clean the lint filter. If the unit has a removable condenser, take it out and rinse thoroughly under running water to clear lint and scale. Ensure all air channels are free of obstruction.
- 2. Check rear and internal airflow: Ensure the appliance has adequate ventilation around it and that any exhaust or recirculation ducts are not blocked.
- 3. Access dryer heater: Remove the top and, if necessary, rear panel to locate the dryer heater housing. Inspect wiring and connectors for burning or looseness.
- 4. Test heater and thermal cut-out: Use a multimeter to measure resistance across the heater terminals and across any thermal cut-out devices mounted on the heater housing. An open circuit on the heater or fuse indicates it must be replaced.
- 5. Check dryer NTC sensor: Locate the dryer temperature sensor on the air duct. Measure its resistance; it should be within the manufacturer’s specified range and vary with temperature. Replace if open or shorted.
- 6. Persistent E06: If all components test correctly, the dryer control circuitry on the main module may be defective. Professional diagnosis is recommended.
