Possible Causes
Blocked dryer fan or air duct, Failed dryer fan motor, Loose fan wiring connector, Obstructed condenser causing airflow restriction
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Sharp metal edges may be present inside the cabinet.
- 1. Clean lint filters and condenser: Remove all accessible lint filters and the condenser unit (if removable). Clean thoroughly with water and allow to dry.
- 2. Access dryer fan: Remove the top and, if necessary, side or rear panels to reach the dryer fan housing. Check for lint build-up, fabric pieces, or foreign objects blocking the fan.
- 3. Test fan rotation: Spin the fan by hand; it should rotate freely without scraping. If stiff or seized, the fan motor may need replacement.
- 4. Check fan motor wiring: Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged. Repair or replace as needed.
- 5. Functional test: Reassemble, restore power, and run a drying cycle. If E12 returns and the fan does not run, replace the dryer fan motor assembly.
