Possible Causes
Excessive mains water pressure, Faulty inlet valve not closing cleanly, Control module mis-timing fill, Water hammer causing sensor misread
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off water supply and disconnect power before servicing.
- 1. Check water pressure: If household pressure is very high, consider installing a pressure reducer on the supply line to the appliance.
- 2. Inspect inlet valve: Remove the top cover and examine the inlet valve for signs of internal leakage or water hammer damage. Replace if noisy or not closing properly.
- 3. Fit anti-hammer device: Install a water hammer arrestor on the supply line if banging noises are present.
- 4. Reset and test: Restore power and run a short cycle. If E17 persists despite normal pressure and a new valve, the control module may be misinterpreting fill data and should be checked by a technician.
