Possible Causes
Temporary software glitch, Power interruption during cycle, Faulty main control board, Incorrect voltage supply
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before any internal inspection.
- Hard reset: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in. Attempt to start a simple rinse/spin cycle.
- Check power supply: Verify the breaker is not partially tripped and that the outlet provides stable voltage. Avoid using extension cords.
- Inspect control board: Remove the top panel and visually inspect the GE main control board for burnt spots or damaged components.
- Service mode: Enter service mode (see tech sheet) to read stored sub-codes if available. Persistent E01 after reset and good power usually indicates a failing control board that must be replaced.
