Possible Causes
Stalled or jammed drum, Failed drive motor, Faulty motor control board, Loose motor harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before accessing the drum or motor.
- Check for mechanical jam: Open the door and try to rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly. If it is seized or very stiff, inspect for foreign objects between the inner and outer tubs.
- Inspect motor and belt: Remove the rear panel. Verify the belt is intact and properly tensioned. Check that the motor pulley turns freely.
- Check wiring: Ensure the motor harness is fully connected and not damaged.
- Test motor and control: Use a multimeter to check motor windings and, if available, run motor tests in service mode. Replace the GE drive motor or GE motor control board as indicated by test results.
