Possible Causes
Loose harness between door lock and main control, Damaged door lock connector, Faulty GE main control board, Intermittent door lock coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing the control board or door lock wiring.
- Check harness connections: Remove the top panel to access the main control board. Locate the connector labeled for the door lock and ensure it is fully seated. Follow the harness to the door lock and check for pinched or damaged sections.
- Inspect connectors: Look for bent pins, corrosion, or heat damage at both the control board and door lock ends. Clean lightly with contact cleaner if needed and reseat.
- Wiggle test: With power off, gently move the harness along its length to detect breaks or stiff spots that may indicate internal wire damage. Replace the door lock harness if any damage is found.
- Board evaluation: If a known-good door lock and harness still produce E32, the main control board's door lock driver circuit may be defective. Visual inspection for burnt components can support this; replace the GE main control board if necessary.
