Washer-dryer combo displays E61 and will not start; control panel may be unresponsive or freeze.

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the top or control panel.

• Power reset: Disconnect power for at least 5 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then plug back in and attempt to start a cycle. This can clear minor logic faults.
• Check supply voltage: Verify the outlet provides correct voltage (typically 240V for combo units, with proper neutral and ground). Low or unstable voltage can cause control errors.
• Inspect control connections: Remove the top panel and inspect the wiring harness between the user interface (display board) and the main control board. Reseat all connectors firmly.
• Look for damage: Examine the main control board for burnt components, cracked solder joints, or insect damage. If present, replace the GE main control board.
• Firmware/service mode: Some GE models allow entering service mode to clear stored errors. Refer to the tech sheet behind the panel for button sequences. If E61 returns immediately, the board is likely defective.
