Possible Causes
Blocked pressure hose from tub to sensor, Failed GE water level pressure sensor, Loose sensor connector, Air leak in pressure hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before removing the top panel.
- Locate the sensor: Remove the top panel to access the GE water level/pressure sensor, usually a small round device with a thin rubber hose attached.
- Inspect hose: Check the hose for kinks, cracks, or disconnections. Remove it from the sensor and tub connection and blow through it to ensure it is clear of soap residue or lint.
- Check for water in hose: Any water inside the pressure hose can cause false readings. Drain and dry the hose completely.
- Inspect connections: Reseat the electrical connector on the sensor and check for corrosion or loose pins.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the hose is clear and intact but E71 persists, replace the GE water level/pressure sensor with the correct part for your model.
