Possible Causes
Faulty wash NTC sensor on tub heater, Faulty dryer NTC sensor, Loose or corroded NTC wiring, Shorted or open NTC causing out-of-range reading
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Disconnect power and allow the appliance to cool before accessing sensors.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then reconnect and try a low-temperature program. If E9 reappears quickly, the NTC circuit is likely faulty.
- Access wash NTC (advanced): Remove the rear panel. The wash NTC is usually clipped into the tub heater bracket. Disconnect its plug and inspect for corrosion or moisture.
- Test NTC resistance: With a multimeter, measure resistance at room temperature. Typical values are 20–30 kΩ at 20°C (check Gorenje specs). Infinite or near-zero resistance indicates a bad sensor.
- Inspect dryer NTC: On the dryer air duct or heater housing, locate the dryer NTC and test similarly.
- Replace faulty sensor: Install a Gorenje-compatible NTC sensor, ensuring good contact with the tub or duct and secure wiring.
