Possible Causes
Child lock (key lock) activated, Faulty Start/Pause button on control panel, Loose connection between UI board and main board, Software glitch in control module
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the cabinet for this fault unless you are comfortable working with electronics.
- Check child lock: Look for a key or lock symbol on the display. On many Gorenje models, press and hold the designated button combination (often two buttons marked with a key icon) for several seconds to toggle the lock.
- Reset the machine: Turn the program selector to OFF, wait 30 seconds, then select a simple program and press Start/Pause firmly.
- Inspect buttons: If some buttons work and others do not, the membrane or tact switch for Start/Pause may be faulty and the UI board may need replacement.
