Possible Causes
Severely unbalanced laundry load, Faulty tachometer sensor on motor, Loose drive belt, Defective motor control circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance before internal inspection.
- Step 1 – Rebalance load: Open the door once safe, redistribute laundry evenly around the drum, and remove heavy single items (e.g. one large towel or duvet). Run a spin-only cycle to test.
- Step 2 – Check machine level: Ensure the Gram combo is level on the floor. Adjust the front feet so the cabinet does not rock; this helps the control system manage balance.
- Step 3 – Inspect belt and motor: Remove the rear panel and check that the drive belt is tight and not slipping. Replace if glazed or stretched. Inspect the motor tachometer connector for secure fit.
- Step 4 – Test tachometer sensor: With power disconnected, measure resistance of the tachometer coil on the motor (if accessible). An open circuit indicates a failed tachometer requiring motor or sensor replacement.
If mechanical and sensor checks are satisfactory but E08 continues, the spin control circuitry on the main PCB may be faulty and should be evaluated by a technician.
