If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.
Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Dryer components can be sharp and may contain hot surfaces.
- Step 1 – Clean condenser and ducts: Access the condenser (if user-removable) and rinse it thoroughly to remove lint. Clean all accessible air channels and lint traps in the dryer circuit.
- Step 2 – Access dryer fan: Remove the top and/or rear panel to locate the dryer fan assembly, usually in a plastic or metal housing connected to the air duct.
- Step 3 – Inspect fan wheel: Check that the fan impeller is not jammed by lint, fabric, or foreign objects. Rotate it by hand; it should spin freely.
- Step 4 – Test fan motor: Verify wiring connections. With a multimeter, measure resistance of the fan motor windings. An open circuit indicates a failed motor that must be replaced.
If the fan and ducts are clear and the motor tests good but E10 remains, the control PCB may not be powering the fan correctly and should be checked by a technician.
