Possible Causes

Tub heating element shorted to earth, Dryer heater short to chassis, Damaged wiring harness insulation, Moisture on electrical connectors

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: If the breaker trips, do not repeatedly reset it without finding the cause. Unplug the appliance before inspection.

  • Step 1 – Visual inspection: Remove rear and top panels. Look for burnt wires, melted connectors, or signs of arcing around the heater, motor, and wiring harness.
  • Step 2 – Insulation test of heaters: With all wires disconnected from the tub heater and dryer heater, use a multimeter on the highest resistance range to measure between each heater terminal and the metal chassis. Any low resistance (or continuity) indicates an earth fault; replace the faulty heater.
  • Step 3 – Check wiring harness: Follow the main harness, especially where it passes through metal openings or near moving parts. Repair or replace any sections with damaged insulation.

If no obvious component is faulty, a professional insulation resistance test (megger) and further diagnosis by a technician is recommended.
