Possible Causes
Torn or worn door gasket, Foreign object trapped between gasket and drum, Loose gasket retaining band, Misaligned door causing poor seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and turn off water supply before inspection.
- Step 1 – Inspect gasket: Open the door and carefully examine the rubber door gasket all around, especially the bottom. Look for tears, holes, or hardened areas.
- Step 2 – Remove debris: Check the fold of the gasket for coins, bra wires, or other sharp objects. Remove any foreign items.
- Step 3 – Check retaining bands: Ensure the outer metal or wire clamp holding the gasket to the front panel is tight and properly seated. Tighten or refit if loose.
- Step 4 – Replace gasket if damaged: If you find splits or heavy wear, remove the front and inner clamps, pull off the old gasket, and fit a new Gram-compatible door gasket, aligning the drain holes at the bottom.
After replacement, run a rinse cycle and check for leaks around the door.
