Possible Causes
Open dryer heating element, Tripped thermal fuse or high-limit thermostat, Blocked condenser or air path, Faulty dryer temperature sensor (NTC)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before accessing the heater or ducts.
- Check for airflow: Clean the lint filter and inspect the condenser (on condenser-type Haier combos) for lint and scale. Rinse the condenser under running water if removable.
- Access dryer heater: Remove the rear panel or side panel (model dependent) to locate the dryer heater assembly and thermostats.
- Inspect wiring and thermostats: Look for burned connectors. Test continuity of the thermal fuse and high-limit thermostat with a multimeter. Replace any open safety devices and investigate the cause of overheating (usually blocked airflow).
- Test heater element: Measure resistance across the heater terminals. Infinite resistance indicates a failed element that must be replaced with a Haier-compatible dryer heater.
- Call a technician: If all components test good, the main PCB may not be energizing the heater and should be checked by a professional.
