Possible Causes
Faulty hall (tacho) sensor on motor, Loose sensor connector, Damaged motor harness, Main PCB speed sensing circuit fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before accessing the motor or wiring.
- Access motor and sensor: Remove the rear panel. The hall sensor is typically mounted on the motor stator with a small connector.
- Inspect connections: Check that the hall sensor plug is fully seated and that wires are not damaged or pulled.
- Test sensor: Using a multimeter, measure sensor resistance according to Haier service data. Some sensors can also be tested by monitoring output voltage while manually turning the motor shaft.
- Replace hall sensor if faulty: If readings are out of spec or intermittent, replace the hall sensor with a Haier-compatible part.
- Call a technician: If a new sensor and good wiring do not resolve E18, the main PCB speed sensing circuit may be defective and should be professionally diagnosed.
