Safety first: Unplug the appliance and keep towels or a shallow pan ready for water spillage.

• Access and clean the pump filter: On most Haier combos, the drain pump filter is behind a small lower front access panel. Open the panel, place a tray under the filter cap, and slowly unscrew the cap to let water drain. Remove lint, coins, and debris from the filter and cavity. Reinstall the cap securely.
• Inspect the drain hose: Pull the unit forward slightly and check the rear drain hose for kinks or crushing. Disconnect the hose from the standpipe or sink and flush it with water to clear blockages.
• Check standpipe height and installation: Ensure the drain hose is installed at the manufacturer-recommended height and not inserted too far into the standpipe, which can cause siphoning or poor drainage.
• Check pump impeller: With the filter removed (power still unplugged), reach carefully into the pump cavity and feel the impeller. Remove any foreign objects and verify the impeller spins freely.
• Test the pump: Reassemble, plug in, and run a drain/spin cycle. If you hear no pump noise or only a humming sound and no water movement, the drain pump motor is likely defective and should be replaced.
• Call a technician: If E2 persists after cleaning and hose checks, a technician should test pump voltage from the main PCB and replace the pump or board as needed.
