Possible Causes
Severely unbalanced laundry load, Worn suspension rods or dampers, Loose or broken tub springs, Faulty motor control on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not open the door until the drum has fully stopped. Unplug the unit before internal inspection.
- Redistribute the load: Open the door once unlocked and redistribute items evenly around the drum. Avoid washing a single heavy item (e.g., one bath mat). Add a few lighter items to balance the load and restart the spin.
- Check machine leveling: Ensure the combo is on a solid, level floor. Adjust the front leveling feet so the unit does not rock when pushed diagonally. Lock the feet with the jam nuts if provided.
- Inspect suspension system: With power unplugged and top panel removed, visually inspect the suspension rods/dampers and tub springs for oil leakage, breakage, or detachment. Replace any worn or broken components.
- Check for shipping bolts (new installs): Confirm that all rear shipping bolts have been removed. Operating with shipping bolts installed will cause severe imbalance and E3 errors.
- When to call a technician: If E3 occurs with small, well-balanced loads and the suspension is intact, the issue may be with the motor control circuit on the main PCB or the hall/tacho sensor, requiring professional diagnosis.
