Possible Causes
Frequent low-temperature washes, Residual moisture in door gasket, Detergent and fabric softener buildup, Clogged drain pump filter harboring debris
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use appropriate cleaning agents and ensure good ventilation when running cleaning cycles.
- Run a drum clean cycle: Use the machine's tub clean program (if available) with a washer cleaner or a cup of white vinegar and hot water.
- Clean door gasket: Wipe the gasket folds with a cloth soaked in mild bleach solution or washer cleaner. Remove lint and trapped debris.
- Clean pump filter: Open the pump filter access, remove and clean the filter and cavity thoroughly.
- Leave door open: After each use, leave the door and detergent drawer slightly open to allow the interior to dry.
- Reduce softener use: Excess softener can promote buildup; use sparingly or switch to dryer sheets when using the drying function.
