Washer-dryer combo is very noisy during spin; grinding, rumbling, or roaring sounds.

Safety first: Unplug the appliance before inspection. Do not operate the machine if metal grinding is heard, as further damage may occur.

• Check for play in drum: With the door open, grasp the drum at the top and lift up and down. Excessive movement or clunking indicates bearing or spider issues.
• Spin drum by hand: Rotate the drum slowly. A rough, gritty feel or loud rumble points to failing bearings. Scraping at one point may indicate a foreign object.
• Inspect pulley and bolt: Remove the rear panel and check that the drum pulley bolt is tight. Tighten if loose.
• Foreign object check: Shine a light through drum holes to look for bra wires or screws. Sometimes these can be fished out with a magnet or hook.
• Call a technician: Bearing or spider replacement requires major disassembly of the tub and is typically a level 5 repair best handled by an experienced technician.
