Possible Causes
Jammed Hisense door lock mechanism, Faulty door lock solenoid, Broken door handle or latch, Control board not sending unlock signal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance. Do not force the door open with excessive strength as this can damage the cabinet and glass.
- Wait for cool-down: If the machine has just finished a high-temperature wash or dry, wait 2–5 minutes for the lock to cool and attempt to open again.
- Check for water level: If water is still visible in the drum, the machine may keep the door locked. Run a drain/spin if possible, or manually drain via the pump filter.
- Use emergency release: Many Hisense combos have an emergency door release near the pump filter behind the lower front panel. Pull the release tab or cord gently to unlock the door.
- Inspect and replace lock: Once open and unplugged, remove the door lock assembly from the front panel and inspect for mechanical damage or burning. Replace the Hisense door lock assembly if faulty.
- Control issue: If a new lock does not resolve E13, the main PCB may not be providing the unlock signal and should be checked by a technician.
