Possible Causes

Loose or broken drive belt (on belt-driven Hisense models), Faulty Hisense drive motor, Defective motor control circuit on main PCB, Seized drum bearings causing overload

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the washer-dryer before removing any panels. Do not bypass safety interlocks.

  • Check for overloading: Remove excess laundry and try a smaller load. Overloading can prevent spin and trigger E3.
  • Inspect drum movement: With the door unlocked and power off, rotate the drum by hand. It should turn smoothly. Grinding or stiffness suggests bearing or foreign-object issues.
  • Access the belt (if applicable): Remove the rear panel. Inspect the drive belt between the motor pulley and drum pulley. If the belt is off, frayed, or broken, replace it with a compatible Hisense drive belt.
  • Check wiring: Inspect the motor wiring harness and connectors to the main control board for burns, loose plugs, or damage. Reseat connectors firmly.
  • Advanced diagnostics: Using a multimeter (with power disconnected), measure motor winding resistance and check for shorts to ground. If readings are out of spec, replace the Hisense drive motor. If motor tests good but E3 persists, the main control board (inverter/PCB) may be faulty and should be replaced by a professional.

Because motor and PCB work involves high voltage and complex diagnostics, consider a qualified technician if basic checks do not resolve the issue.
