Unbalanced Load / Out-of-Balance Protection
Washer-dryer stops and displays E4, often during spin, with drum heavily loaded on one side

Possible Causes
Laundry bunched on one side of drum, Single heavy item causing imbalance, Worn Hisense suspension springs or dampers, Machine not level on the floor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not reach into the drum until it has completely stopped and the door is unlocked.
- Redistribute the load: Open the door, separate tangled items, and spread them evenly around the drum. Remove very heavy single items and wash with similar-weight items.
- Check machine leveling: Use a spirit level on top of the Hisense combo. Adjust the front and rear feet so the unit is level side-to-side and front-to-back. Lock the feet in place.
- Reduce load size: Large duvets or blankets can trigger E4. Wash bulky items one at a time with a few smaller items to balance.
- Inspect suspension (advanced): If E4 occurs frequently even with balanced loads, unplug the unit, remove the top and rear panels, and inspect the suspension springs and shock absorbers (dampers) for oil leakage, breakage, or detachment. Replace worn Hisense suspension dampers or springs as a set.
Persistent imbalance errors after leveling and load adjustment may indicate worn suspension components that should be replaced.
