Possible Causes

Faulty Hisense door lock assembly, Misaligned door latch hook, Damaged or loose wiring to door lock, Defective main control board door lock circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Always unplug the unit before removing the door lock or front panel. Do not force the door closed.

  • Check door closure: Ensure no clothing is trapped between the door seal and glass. Close the door firmly until you hear a click.
  • Inspect latch and strike: Examine the metal or plastic latch hook on the door and the strike on the cabinet for bending, cracks, or looseness. Tighten screws and realign if needed.
  • Reset power: Unplug the machine for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try again. Sometimes the control board needs a reset.
  • Access the door lock: Remove the door seal retaining band at the front and peel back the seal to access the door lock assembly. Check the wiring connector for secure fit and no burn marks.
  • Replace door lock: If the lock does not engage (no click) or E6 persists, remove the mounting screws and replace the Hisense door lock assembly with an OEM part.
  • Control board check: If a new lock does not resolve the issue, the main PCB may not be sending power to the lock and should be tested/replaced by a professional.
