Possible Causes
Blocked inlet filter screens, Faulty water inlet valve, Low or no water supply pressure, Wiring fault between valve and control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the appliance and close the water taps before disconnecting hoses.
- Check household water supply: Ensure both hot and cold taps (if fitted) are fully open and that other taps in the house have normal pressure.
- Inspect inlet hoses: Turn off taps, unscrew the hoses from the back of the Hoover washer-dryer, and check for kinks, crushing, or internal collapse. Straighten or replace as needed.
- Clean inlet filters: At the machine end of each hose, remove the small mesh filters from the inlet valve with needle-nose pliers. Rinse under running water to remove limescale and debris, then reinstall.
- Check for leaks at valve: Inspect the water inlet valve body for cracks or signs of overheating.
- Electrical test: With power disconnected, remove the top cover, locate the water inlet valve, and check the coil resistance with a multimeter. Compare to Hoover specifications (typically 2–4 kΩ). An open circuit coil indicates a failed valve.
- Wiring inspection: Verify the harness from the valve to the main PCB is secure and not damaged.
- Replace valve if needed: If the valve coil is faulty or stuck, replace the complete water inlet valve assembly.
