Possible Causes
Faulty motor tachometer coil, Loose or broken tachometer wiring, Defective drive motor, Faulty main control board motor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing any panels.
F02 indicates the control cannot correctly read the motor speed feedback from the tachometer.
- Check drive belt and drum movement:
- Remove the rear panel.
- Verify the belt is on the motor pulley and drum pulley and is not broken or excessively loose.
- Spin the drum by hand; it should move smoothly without grinding.
- Inspect tachometer on motor:
- The tachometer is a small coil or sensor mounted on the rear of the motor.
- Check that it is firmly attached and its connector is secure.
- Look for broken wires or corrosion at the connector.
- Test tachometer (for trained users):
- Disconnect the motor plug.
- Measure resistance across the tachometer pins; typical values are in the hundreds of ohms. Open circuit or short indicates a bad tachometer.
- Check wiring harness:
- Follow the harness from the motor to the main control board.
- Look for chafed insulation, broken conductors, or loose plugs.
- If motor and wiring test OK: The fault is likely in the main control board motor drive circuit; replace the power module.
